MEETING OF SOLIDARITY. Online meeting with the Belarusian documentary film director.

Actions against falsification of voting results are continuing after the presidential election in Belarus. The security forces were extremely brutal in dispersing peaceful assemblies. In the first days of the protests, they detained about 7,000 people. Among them there was the documentary filmmaker Marta-Daryia Klinava.
The girl was an independent observer at a polling station and she saw an incredibly high level of falsification of results at her polling station. She disappeared for 3 days.
On August 11, 2020, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Minsk sentenced to Marta 15 days in jail for alleged hooliganism and police disobedience. The documentary filmmaker was both in the Center for Isolation of Offenders in Okrestino and the Zhodino SIZO. The girl was released on August 14.

We will talk about the situation in Belarus firsthand live with Belarusian documentary filmmaker Marta-Daria Klinava. We will also discuss about the role of documentaries and their ability to influence to the course of events in this story with the protests of the Belarusian people.
